Our manifesto (if we needed one) is “Playing to Retune, Refresh, and Revitalize the Phoenix, Arizona Music Scene.”
Remember the “good ol’ days” when the music scene in Tempe was hot? So do we. What happened? Changing tastes in music? Corporate invasion? Does it matter? Eh. We think it makes more sense to do something about it rather than to complain that things aren’t the same as they used to be.
Retune Phoenix is the Phoenix music community. If you play an instrument, sing, or write songs, that means you are Retune Phoenix. If we don’t yet know you, please change that! Fame is irrelevant… what matters is music.
We are:
- Playing
- Musicians, songwriters, recordists, and indie music fans
- Of the people, by the people, and for the people (of the Phoenix music scene)
We are not:
- Working
- A private club or corporate tool
- Well-organized
The mission of Retune Phoenix is to:
- Promote local music
- Exchange information
- Learn stuff
- Teach stuff
- Collaborate
- Jam
- Heat up the local scene
Ultimately, Retune Phoenix can be summed up by our slogan: Playing to Retune, Refresh, and Revitalize the Phoenix, Arizona Music Scene
